An intentional space for the quiet, introverted Black woman
Soft Gather, Quiet Flame is an extension of this practice. Soft Gather, Quiet Flame is a monthly intimate gathering in my art studio for quiet, introverted Black women and gender-expansive individuals seeking to explore their quiet power, connections, and fiber play.
The first gathering, held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, had a waitlist of 10 and brought together five individuals seeking creativity and community in a safe space where they could be themselves comfortably.
This gathering in my Baltimore City studio is grounded in the values of Soft Gather. During these gatherings, I share space as we build collective care and community through creativity and conversation. The purpose of these gatherings is to initiate and nurture new friendships and explore the possibilities of material. These gatherings feature an open studio format, guided by conversation prompts, intentional playlists, cozy seating surrounded by vibrant colors and textures, and access to a variety of supplies.
