Mending: The Female Narrative Through Fiber

This exhibit celebrates the powerful voices of female fiber artists who use textiles as tools for storytelling. Through mediums that include quilting, embroidery, weaving, sewing, doll making, and mixed-media fiber art, these artists explore personal histories, cultural memory, and social issues. Each piece is a narrative stitched with intention - revealing untold stories of identity, resistance, migration, motherhood, and resilience. Drawing from traditional techniques and contemporary practices, these women transform fabric into a canvas for truth-telling, often reclaiming craft as a radical, expressive force. “Mending” invites viewers to witness how a variety of threads, in the hands of women, become lines of dialogue, activism, and connection.
